February 26th, 2026
A humble approach to success & spreading the knowledge.
I documented a makeup class led by Andrea Samuels at the Chicago School of Makeup — an intimate, high-energy session where she shared her technique and experience working in Hollywood and New York City.

Documenting this class was about more than technique: it was about mentorship and community among makeup artists. .
Andrea Samuels is a makeup artist I worked with a couple times in college while shooting model tests during my commercial photography studies. She brought a calm, collaborative energy to each session and had a knack for enhancing a model’s natural features without overpowering the look. Her timing was reliable and the makeup consistently ready ahead of turning over lighting sets so we could keep on schedule.

She understood how makeup reads under different lighting setups and adjusted accordingly. I’d recommend her for portrait, beauty, and fashion editorial shoots where a makeup artist who balances creativity with practical on set efficiency is needed.

I had the opportunity to assist in the production of the Nikon LA Music Photography Workshop alongside renowned photographer Todd Owyoung. This immersive experience allowed me to engage with passionate photographers, musicians and music enthusiasts in a dynamic setting, where we explored the intersection of live music photography and portraiture with Michelle Grace Hunder. Working closely with Todd, I gained invaluable insights into equipment handling, composition techniques, and the art of capturing moments that evoke emotion. The workshop not only enhanced my skills but also fostered a collaborative atmosphere, making it a memorable event for all participants.
The talent included Jess Bowen with Leanne Bowes
Fang Banger - a rock and roll band that really brought the energy and vibes to their portrait sessions!

The recent workshop event at the Ivory Space Studios in Downtown Los Angeles was a resounding success, bringing together creative minds and industry professionals. Participants enjoyed hands-on experience with state-of-the-art continuous lighting equipment, thanks to the generous support from the Nikon team and Godox. Their sponsorship greatly enhanced the workshop, providing attendees with valuable insights into innovative lighting, camera gear and techniques from their ambassador. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved, whose contributions made this event truly memorable.
